Futures

A path emerges from one moment and then develops multiple futures; some are shorter and more straightforward, while others are more complex with twists and turns.

Balance

Taking the act of "balancing through life" into a literal sense, "Balance" offers visitors to navigate on narrow elevated profiles above sculptures representing elements such as productivity, leisure, time, sleep, health, relationships, finances, spirituality, communication, and more.

Translation

A waveform can tell a message; however, decrypting it can be a complicated task. It can take various interpretations, and even within one language, it can have multiple meanings. So, getting from one point to another is seldom straightforward, like the waveform itself.
This piece was inspired by a research of stylolites. Read more about it here.

My Place

An interactive digital installation that allows for blending political and topographic maps, adding layers of generative shapes, and distorting the image. It lets the users experiment with forms and color schemes, such as inverting the landmass and waters and forming an abstract art that could be a new world.

The work was created and exhibited during the EGU General Assembly 2022 (Austria Center Vienna, AT, 23–27 May 2022).

Reminder

"That which is above is from that which is below, and that which is below is from that which is above."

Ten Years

A topological illustration, painted above the exit door of my high school studio, maps my journey over the decade since I graduated from there.

Ideal

Many valuable things come for free when we are there, ready to see them. Nice weather in mountains, for example. Or materials for this piece; discarded wood and a bike chainring. A win-win.

Phase Transitions

An installation reflecting the stability of a constant change.

The term describes the shift between states of matter, a change commonly seen in nature and technology. "Phase Transitions" artwork is executed as four wall-mounted frames — three display arrows made of light, each in a different element. Stable led light shines through a solid acrylic sheet, pulsing laser beams are visible thanks to evaporating liquid, and an evolving projection transmits through the air.
Both light and arrows are a common navigational aid, universally used regardless of languages. The arrows point the visitors (literally) the right way, towards the fourth frame located at the end of the room: it is a mirror, which returns the visitors' attention to themselves. In the end, it is us who need to make the changes. Read more about this project.

The Way Out Is Through

Figurative and literal traces of escaping the misery of 2020 pandemic lockdown. See more about this project.

The work was exhibited during the EGU22 General Assembly (Austria Center Vienna, AT, 23–27 May 2022) and the AGU22 Fall Meeting ArtScience Exhibit (McCormick Place, Chicago, US + online, 12-16 Dec 2022).

Gradual change, from one thing to another.

The coin never has just one side. "Duality" explores polar issues, pros and cons, and the grey area in between, through a two-channel digital projection screened on a semitransparent canvas in a room, around which visitors can walk and literally "take a stand," as each side of the canvas portrays a different attitude. Read more.

Bikes Make Dresden

Dresden, the capital of the German state Saxony, is a bike-friendly place: flat, with efficient infrastructure. Locals are making good use of it, and so the bikes form an integral part of the city’s vital culture.

"Bikes Make Dresden" is an installation artwork which takes this phenomenon literally, representing the downtown map of Dresden entirely out of bicycle tires.

Time

An interactive AV installation that plays with humans’ perception of the world that surrounds them through concepts of optimism and pessimism. The viewers have full control to decide whether the vision will be calm and harmonic or chaotic and unclear, as they can adjust the character of the scenes and sound in real-time.
